Mr Japreet Bindra,

Jaspreet is a General Manager – Marketing at Tata Teleservices Ltd, the telecom company of the Tata Group. He is currently heading the Push to Talk project and business for Tata Teleservices, and has led the successful soft launch, making Tata the first operator to launch PTT in South Asia. Till very recently, he has been heading marketing and product management of all postpaid products – voice, data, fixed and mobile – nationally. He is a part of the Tata Administrative Services, and has 10+ years of intensive experience in sales, marketing and operations, across the Telecom space – both voice and data. He has been a part of the start-up team, which launched Tata Teleservices. As a part of this team, he was involved in business planning, funding, sales and marketing plan, brand and corporate identity implementation and hiring key people. Jaspreet was instrumental in starting and running the public telephony business of Tata Teleservices Ltd. Jaspreet spent a year as the COO of eBay (India), one of the handful of successful e-commerce initiatives in India. On his return back to Tata Teleservices Ltd, , he was the National Marketing Head for Tata Internet Services Ltd., the company that spearheaded the Group’s foray into retail and corporate internet space. In his current role, Jaspreet is responsible for the PTT business. He is also involved in the BREW project and would be heading the entire Wireless Data and PTT business product development and marketing shortly.. He reports in to the President – Telecom of the company. Jaspreet is a Chemical Engineer, and an MBA in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi. He has also done an Advanced Management Program in Telecom Management at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California. Jaspreet is married and lives in Mumbai.

Mr Paul Budde,

Paul Budde is the managing director of Paul Budde Communication (trading as BuddeComm), a global independent telecommunications research and consultancy company, which includes 45 national and international researchers in 15 countries, and operates from Bucketty, in the Lower Hunter Valley, Australia.
Paul is frequently interviewed on radio and television current affairs and news programs, as well as by the leading national and international financial and business press. He is quoted in company prospectuses and his knowledge of the industry is a valuable resource at the governmental level.
He specialises in the strategic planning of interactive services such as video media, Internet, multimedia and intelligent and value-added networks based on telecommunications, broadband and satellite networks. His particular expertise is on how these new media can be used by organisations to enhance their competitive edge in the market and how to apply and use these new media in mass markets. Paul holds a marketing degree from the Netherlands Institute for Marketing.
Since 1978 he has been involved in writing strategic plans and market reports for many of the world's leading companies. He advised organisations and government authorities on the initiation, setting up and implementation of e-commerce and information services. He was involved in Europe's first broadband cable TV services in 1982 and established many public and private online services (now called Internet and Intranet).
In 1983 he came to Australia and since then has provided management consultancy services in the Asia Pacific region. During that period he also established 70 telecommunications business publications and initiated the largest telecommunications research site on the Internet (http://www.budde.com.au/).


Mr James Campbell,

James Campbell's initial background is one of Information Technology, however he has spent the past twelve years in Sales & Marketing focusing on successfully establishing new business and businesses; he has significant market experience of Wireless Data, the Internet and Value Added Services. Prior to joining Motorola he consulted within the industry for Wireless Internet and Internet businesses, and was engaged with Sonera (Finland's leading operator) as Director Asia Pacific, with an initial assignment in Europe. Previously, he was with Nokia Corporation's Ventures Organisation in a Business Development role for the Asia Pacific region, where he also successfully initiated new product development initiatives on a global basis, such as Mobile Entertainment (Games). James joined Nokia, in marketing roles, during the formative years of the mobile industry. He had responsibility for the launch of the Nokia's first smartphone (Nokia Communicator) in Asia Pacific, and delivered innovative marketing campaigns in partnership with market leading mobile operators. At Motorola, James is currently a regional manager for Applications, IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) and Seamless Mobility with the Asia Pacific marketing and technology team within the Networks Business, where he engages with regional operators on services infrastructure, technologies, and business models for 2.5 and 3G networks. James is based in Sydney, Australia but travels extensively throughout the region, and is currently completing an MBA (Exec) at the Australian Graduate School of Management.

As the general manager, Mr. Christmas leads all aspects of Flarion's customer engagements, sales and marketing for the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Christmas has over 20 years of networking industry experience and has held a number of senior executive positions with global firms in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Flarion Technologies, Mr. Christmas led a consulting firm in Australia that provided global vendors with the opportunity to establish a virtual presence in the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Christmas has held executive management and sales positions with Proxim, Nortel Networks and Bay Networks with responsibility for Asia Pacific operations. Mr. Christmas has a Diploma in Electronic Engineering from Slough Polytechnic College, England.

Mr Anupama Hegde,

Anupama Hegde heads Product Management and Marketing at Openera Technologies, Inc. Prior to this, She was with IndTeleSoft for over 6 years leading the Business Development function for its Wireless Device Solutions. She managed the IP PBX program at IndTeleSoft between 2000 and 2002 and she was also involved in R&D efforts. She led various development teams in the areas of next generation wireless networks, protocols (SIP, MGCP and H.323) and services at IndTeleSoft. Earlier, she worked with Integrated Device Technology in the Broadband Communications and Product Definition & Applications Engineering groups. Anupama has spoken at various industry events such as 'SIP & IMS' & VON and has authored number of articles on SIP. She has actively participated in various industry standards bodies including IETF, JSR- 180, IEEE 802.14, ATM Forum, DVB, VON and Voicecon. She holds an MS in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Oakland University, Michigan and BE degree in Electrical Engineering from REC, Durgapur (INDIA).

Mr Justin Jameson,

Based in Sydney, Justin is the co-Managing Director of Spectrum’s Asia Pacific practice. Spectrum is a specialist telecoms and media consultancy with eighty professional staff spread across the Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. Justin has focused on the telecoms and media industries for over fourteen years. He works across the region, helping CEOs, line managers, financiers, policy makers and regulators to develop and implement winning business strategies. By way of example, recent assignments include:

Justin has been with Spectrum since its launch and previously worked at Booz·Allen & Hamilton. He was also previously Marketing Director of Express Newspapers and strategy advisor to the CEO at Energis. Justin has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.


Mr Anthony Petts,

Anthony has a strong understanding of the Mobile Communications business and the real needs of businesses and consumers. Prior to joining Ericsson, he
worked for Vodafone as a Business Development Manager for their Mobile Data Division. In this role he developed a strong understanding of the operations and business drivers for Telecom carriers, through his involvement with product rollout, network design and implementation and solutions for corporate customers. Before joining Vodafone, he spent 8 years at Breakthrough Communication, the largest Motorola Two-Way radio distributor as a Business Development Manager. Anthony assisted in developing the
business from a new starter to having offices in most capital cities and including staff of 80.In the beginning Anthony worked at Motorola Communications Australia for 4 years in two roles, Project Engineer and later as an Account Manager.


Mr Tony Poulos,

Tony Poulos has been involved with software development and systems integration in travel and telecommunications for over 20 years. He was involved in the development of convergent billing system in the early nineties in Australia and from there he worked in a business development role with Unisys in Europe.

He was co-founder of Copernicus Global Billing Services, a London based, web-enabled, managed service provider for outsourced billing and payments collection. He also acted as VP Business Development of Telecoms Solutions with Logica Asia. Tony was, most recently, GM Asia Pacific for leading revenue assurance solution provider, Azure Solutions and now operates his own company, Facilitasia, based in Singapore.

Tony has been a regular speaker and chairman at numerous telco conferences in Europe and Asia-Pacific as well as being a regular contributor for trade publications. He also acts as the Head of Asia Pacific for the Global Billing Association.


Mr Giri Ramachandran,

Giri Ramachandran has over 14 years of experience in the Telecommunication and IT industries and has held various strategy, marketing, product development and business development roles with Telstra and IBM. Giri has been associated with several Internet/Wireless initiatives at Telstra and IBM such as Whereis.com.au, BigPond Global Connect, PocketNews, IBM ebusiness packages and several broader business strategy, sales and marketing activities. Giri was one of the core members of the team that established an Asia Pacific wide business unit focused on the new economy sector at IBM. In his current role as General Manager, Strategy and Market Planning, Giri is responsible for mergers and acquisitions and various market development initiatives focused on the enterprise market. Prior to this Giri headed up the alliances group and consumer content strategy group at Telstra. Giri holds an MBA in Finance from University of New Brunswick, Canada and has attended executive development programs at the Australian Graduate School of Management and the Harvard Business School, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Mr Alvin Seck,

Alvin Seck obtained an honours degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering (B.Eng) (Hons) in 1996 from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom (UK). Thereafter he went further to pursue a full time Masters program in business management. In 1997 he was conferred Masters in Business Management (MBM) with Distinction by Strathclyde Graduate Business School (SGBS, UK). With more than 8 years of experience in Radio Communication and Information Technology services with Singapore Telecom Pte Ltd, Jardine Matheson Group and a period of entrepreneurial experience as a Service Base Operator (SBO) for International Calling Services, he currently heads the corporate and channel sales of DNA Communication Pte Ltd a joint venture between SingTel and Singapore Technologies. Through effective Account Management, Account Development, Planning and Development and Sales Support he is responsible for identifying new markets for push to talk service through iDEN in Singapore and the region. He is also involve in providing in house and overseas training for DNA Comms for courses such as Change Management, Strategic Business Development, Successful Selling Skills, Emergency Planning and Strategic Marketing.

Mr Stuart Tucker,

Stuart has spent almost 10 years at Optus in various marketing roles. These include retail marketing, communications, retention, segment marketing and now a senior role as Marketing Director. Current responsibilities include overall marketing leadership for the consumer segment - prepaid and postpaid - plus the customer knowledge team within mobile. Stuart has been involved in many major Optus campaign launches, including "yes"Time, Optus Zoo and major brand activity. Prior to joining Optus, Stuart held marketing roles at KFC for five years. Before that he was with American Express for two years. Stuart holds a B.Comm from UNSW, and is married with two young daughters.

Mr Sven Vogeler,

Sven Vogeler joined Siemens’ Information and Communication Mobile division in Munich, Germany in December 1991. He had various roles in Technical Sales as well as Product Management, which included the introduction of GPRS and EDGE into the Base Station System. Sven has been with Siemens Australia for 4 years and is Senior Solutions Consultant for Mobile Communication in the Siemens COM Group Australia. His expertise is in relation to all aspects of 2G and 3G Mobile Networks and Applications to Fixed Mobile Convergence. Sven holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from FH Hamburg in Germany as well as a degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Portsmouth University in England.

Dr Keith White,
Security Services Director, Asia Pacific,

Dr. Keith White is Security Services Director for Asia Pacific and leads the Professional Security Services Consulting Practice team for Lucent Technologies. White had started his career with Telecom New Zealand as a Telecommunications Engineer in the mid-1970s. He then joined IBM as a Customer Engineer, commissioning and servicing computers for two years and he moved on to Rank Xerox as an engineer for five years. White took on the electronic security field in his work for Coca-Cola before joining Optus Communications as National Security Manager. In 1994, White joined Cardax Systems as the Australian General Manager and was responsible for many successful marketing campaigns in Australia and Asia. He had concurrently worked on major security infrastructure projects with Australian and Asian universities. White’s stint with Cardax Systems brought him to the US, where he had established Cardax Systems in the Pan-American market. He has also worked on defense security projects with the organizations such as the US Navy, United Airlines and Motorola. In 1999, Keith headed back to Australia and spearheaded major security infrastructure projects with the Australian Department of Defence, Qantas Airways, Lucent Technologies, AT&T and the Independent Commission Against Corruption. In addition, he has worked on the TA Orange Telecommunications account, developing their network and facilities security infrastructure in Thailand, right up to 2001. White was highly regarded in academia and was awarded the Doctorate in Science, Technology Development, for his work on token-based encryption technologies.
