Significant Experience In 1990, Michael first joined Chinatrust where he held a number of managerial post within the credit card division ever since. With over 15 years of experience in the credit card business, Michael has led a number of significant projects, including issuing international credit card brands, providing cardholders various value-added services, creating an online shopping platform and enhancing reward program. Such dedications to create exceptional customer satisfaction has driven Chinatrust in achieving 6 millions card-in-force in April 2004 and 7 millions in June 2005. Under his vision, Chinatrust Commercial Bank became one of the banks to first introduce contact-less chip card in Taiwan. Within only 6-month, Chinatrust launched the second generation of contact-less chip card. This time, Chinatrust is not only the first bank to introduce the second generation contact-less chip card but also the first to offer off-line transaction across all regions.

Involved with the Asia Pacific Smart Card Forum since shortly after its inception in 1995, David is the current Chairman of this Australian based Forum, which operates under the Australian Electronic & Engineering Manufacturers Association. He has been employed by G&D for the past 6 years, and is based at their regional head office at Knoxfield, near Melbourne, Australia. Mike CUTTER, MD, GE Money Direct, Australia and New Zealand
Mike has a degree in Physics and Electrical Engineering from Hertfordshire University in the UK. On graduating in 1987 he joined Burton Group Financial Services which became GE Capitals first consumer finance acquisition outside of North America.
Mike held numerous Risk Management roles in the UK business until 1993 when he took on the role of Risk Director for Europe. In 1995 he moved to the Australian business on the acquisition of the Coles Myer PLCC business and remained there until 1998 when he moved to Stamford as Head Underwriter and VP Risk for Europe and South America.
Mike left GE in 1999 and worked for BankOne as the Chief Operating Officer for their European Credit Card start up which they sold to HBOS in 2000. After successfully reverse integrating the Halifax Cards business into the acquired business Mike returned to Australia as Head of Consumer Credit Cards for National Australia Bank.
In June 2002 Mike returned to GE as Head of Portfolio Management and Collections and took up his current role as Managing Director for GE Money Direct in May 2004.

As Assistant Vice-President at StarHub Mobile, Li Li heads a strategic project team in developing and growing the company's mobile data services. Prior to this role, Li Li was responsibile for the mobile corporate business sales and solutions business for StarHub. She has established StarHub as the leading infocomm provider for data solutions in the corporate arena. She was also responsible for bringing the BlackBerry push email service to Singapore whereby StarHub was the first mobile operator to launch the service. The company has since maintained its leadership in push email solutions.
Li-Li started her career in sales as an Account Manager with Telerate Financial Services Pte Ltd. Within four years, she was made to head the major accounts team with Dow Jones Telerate. She has also won numerous awards and was the top salesperson in Asia Pacific during her stint at Telerate. She was Sales Director in Bridge Information Pte Ltd before joining StarHub.
Li-Li has a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Sociology from the National University of Singapore.

Mary GRACE, Chief Executive Officer, e-smart Technologies Inc, USA
Ms. Grace is a Director, President and CEO of e-Smart Technologies and it’s Government Services affiliate, Homeland Defense, Inc., a company represented by Charles R. (Charlie) Black, a senior advisor in the Regan and first Bush administration, and currently an unofficial advisor to President Bush. Concurrently since December 1997, Ms. Grace has served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Intermarket Ventures, Inc., an affiliate of the Company. Prior thereto, from 1996 Ms. Grace was involved in the financing and installation of telecommunications in China with China Unicom. Ms Grace also signed the first contract for a nationwide data network in China with China United Telecommunications (China Unicom). Ms. Grace served as the founder and a director of China Hi Tech American Telecommunications, Ltd (CHAT) a corporation engaged in international telecommunication that was acquired by another company in November 1996. Prior thereto, since 1995, Ms. Grace was one of the founders and an executive officer of Asian American Tele-Communications Corporation(AAT), the corporation engaged in telephony infrastructure development in Sichuan Province in China, which invested $90 million in fiber and wireless local loop telephony in Sichuan Province. This company was sold to Metromedia Asia Corporation, a subsidiary of Metromedia International Group, Inc., in 1997.
Prior thereto since 1993, Ms. Grace was a founding partner and director of Asian Infrastructure Development Co., Ltd. and Solution Technologies, Ltd., corporations that through introductions by President Richard Nixon and Special UN Ambassador Frank Dale, became engaged in infrastructure development in the People’s Republic of China. In the positions above Ms. Grace was responsible for the negotiations which resulted in the above companies, in the face of major international competition (at that time) which included Bell South, Sprint, Singapore Tel, Nortel, among others, and which included contracts to install wireless local loop and lay fiber in Sichuan Province, the largest province in China, a contract for a 800mhz (Nextel Type) nationwide emergency network in partnership with a major Chinese Government Ministry, the contract for the first nationwide data network, with the government owned telecommunications company, a contract with China Telecom/Beijing Telecom to set up the first broadband Super Pop in Asia and the largest smartcard contract ever signed in the world for the Super Smart Card.

Marc Kekicheff has over fifteen years experience in the smart card technology industry and has served GlobalPlatform as Technical Director since January 2001. Marc has also served as the Card Committee Chair since October 2000.
Marc joined GlobalPlatform from Visa International, where, he is Vice-President of Product Technologies, and is responsible for designing, developing and implementing open standards for a multi-application, cross industry environment. Marc together with a team of experts has been a key architect of the GlobalPlatform standard. Marc has also actively participated in the original design of the Java Card Specification.
A native Frenchman, Marc moved to California from Cartes Bancaires, where he headed up the Terminals and Software Applications department in 1994. In that position, Marc was in charge of upgrading the entire French terminal base to chip technology during the French smart card program rollout in 1990-1992.

James kelaher, Head, Smart Technologies and Services Task Force, Australian Government Department of Human Services
James Kelaher is the head of the Australian government’s Smart technologies and services task force. The purpose of the task force is to develop a detailed proposal for the introduction of smart card technology to improve the way that government services are delivered across the $100 billion pa Human Services portfolio administered by the Hon Joe Hockey.
The task force is working with KPMG which is preparing a business case to replace the current Medicare card and a large number of other plastic and paper cards and vouchers for consideration by the government early in 2006.
Prior to his current appointment James was the deputy managing director of Medicare, the executive chairman of the Health eSecurity Authority, and the chair of the Eclipse Governance Board which comprises health fund, medical and government and public and private hospital representatives overseeing the introduction of a claims switching hub for all privately insured hospital claims.
Previous to these appointments James was appointed by the government to be the chief operating officer of the Australian Federal Police.
James’s earlier career was in business where he had leadership and chief executive roles in the manufacturing, services and investment industries. James started his working life as a garbo.

Choon Kwee LEE, Program Manager, C4IT - Information Solutions Centre, Defence Science and Technology Agency
Choon Kwee graduated from the University of Tokyo and started his career with then SCO Systems under Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) . In 2000, SCO Systems became part of the Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA) - the first statutory board to be set up under MINDEF. DSTA is the national authority for defence science and technology, responsible for implementing defence technology plans, managing defence research and development, acquiring defence material and developing defence infrastructure for MINDEF. Choon Kwee is currently a Programme Manager in the Information Assurance Solutions Centre (IASC) in DSTA. He heads the Information Assurance Security Infrastructure Programme implementing security infrastructure like Secure Messaging, Web Access Management (WAM), Smart Cards and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) in MINDEF, DSTA and the public sector . In the last two years, Choon Kwee has played an active role in implementing a few PKI systems in the government sector. In those implementations, latest technologies such as 64K Java Cards and RSA 2048-bit key pairs were used. A Card Management System (CMS) has also been integrated with the PKI system to achieve a full life cycle management of the Java Cards. He hopes that sharing his experience in this area would benefit the industry and other professionals undertaking similar projects.

After 15 years working for Shell, (including 2 years with Shell Malaysia) Steve Lobb, the presenter, became in 1995 the founding General Manager of Fly Buys, New Zealand’s dominant coalition loyalty programme. While there he consulted on the formation of BonusLink, Malaysia’s leading programme. In 1999 Steve joined the Loyalty Management Group, setting up Air Miles Middle East, based in Dubai, before moving to London in 2002 as COO of LMUK through the launch of Nectar. Steve is now a Managing Director of Loyalty Management International, and is looking at opportunities to develop other Nectar like programmes around the world.

Mr. Akihiro NAKATANI, Senior Manager, Advanced Technologies Department, JCB
As senior manager of the JCB Advanced Technologies Department, Akihiro Nakatani plays a key role as JCB’s expert in new and emerging technologies in the payment arena, including smart cards, mobile services, the Internet, and biometrics.
During Mr. Nakatani's tenure as manager for the JCB International Paris Office between 1989 and 1997, he was responsible for leading the development of the EFTPOS terminal infrastructure in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. From 1998 to 1999, after returning to JCB Headquarters in Tokyo, he helped create the framework for JCB's EMV-based smart card specifications, J/Smart, contributing to JCB's new smart card business scheme.
From 1999 to 2002, Mr. Nakatani was involved in Mondex e-purse business, serving as Deputy Secretary General of the Japan Mondex Consortium, where he directed promotion of Mondex business in Japan.
Currently Mr. Nakatani is JCB’s spokesperson in the global advanced technologies field, representing the company on the NFC Forum and Mobile Payment Forum, in addition to addressing major payment industry conferences including Cards Asia and Cartes.
Mr. Nakatani has served as a Board Member of EMVCo. since 2004, when JCB became a one-third owner, working toward promoting the EMV smart card payment infrastructure worldwide.
Mr. Nakatani graduated from the Faculty of Law at Gakushuin University, Tokyo, in 1987.

Greg Pote is Chairman of the Asia Pacific Smart Card Association (APSCA), the Asia Pacific division of an international affiliation of Smart Card associations established around the world by the Smartex organisation. The aim of the Asia Pacific Smart Card Association is to promote the adoption of smart card technology, under suitable standards, for all relevant private sector and public sector applications across the Asia Pacific region including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. Andrew Purchas has been at the Westpac Banking Corporation, Sydney, Australia since September 2003 and commenced in the role of the Head of Financial Crime Control in January 2005. Westpac’s Financial Crime Control department is responsible for the management and control of all internal and external fraud and Anti-Money Laundering activities throughout Westpac’s retail, wholesale, funds management and institutional banking divisions.
Prior to joining Westpac Andrew was a Principal Consultant with CSC in San Francisco, USA. He specialised in supply chain re-engineering and solution development and implementation. Subsequently, he moved to idbi bank in 1995 & laid the IT foundation by setting up IT infrastructure & implementing Core Banking System for the bank. Since then, has been involved in various IT initiatives like Y2K, Technology Conversion projects for Core treasury systems. BPR exercise for CPU/RPU, CPU ISO certification etc. which has further strengthened and aligned the IT infrastructure with Business.
In the Banking Technology Awards 2004 organised by IBA and TFCL, idbi bank won awards in four categories viz. best use of IT in retail banking (winner), best corporate banking IT initiative (winner), outstanding achiever of the year (individual-runners up) Sanjay Sharma and best payments initiative (runners up).
Mr. Sanjay Sharma got the Innovator Award in the individual category of the Enterprise Connect Awards '05. Derek was appointed as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer in the second quarter of 2004 after his work in assisting with the completion of the initial public offering of Linktone, our sister company of which Derek was a co-founder and serves on the Board of Directors and audit committee.
Prior to joining Smartpay, Mr Sulger founded and served as ChiefFinancial Officer of Linktone Ltd, a leader in China's wireless value-added services market, as well as Chief Operating Officer of Intrinsic Technology (Holdings) Ltd. Under Mr Sulger'sleadership, Intrinsic formed and made founding investments in both Smartpay and Linktone.
Derek is widely considered to be amongst the most successful foreign entrepreneurs in China since forming Linktone, SmartPay and Intrinsic in China at the age of 27. He has also been recognizedas one of the leading young entrepreneurs in the Asia Pacific region.
Before entering the Chinese entrepreneurial scene, Derek was an Executive Director in the London office of Goldman Sachs, where he worked in the Fixed Income division for 7 years. A native of theUnited States, Derek attended Harvard University where he graduated in 1993 with a BA degree in Government and Economics. Derek serves on numerous charitable and educational foundations in China and Hong Kong. Outside of his work, Derek devotes significant time to furthering rowing in China, a sport in which he won numerous United States national championships and was a two-time bronze medalist at the world championships.

Tac Watanabe is Chairman of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing JCB Co., Ltd.
EMVCo LLC was formed in February 1999 by Europay International, MasterCard International and Visa International to manage, maintain and enhance the EMVâ„¢ Integrated Circuit Card Specifications for Payment Systems. With the acquisition of Europay by MasterCard in 2002 and JCB joining the organisation in 2004, EMVCo is currently operated by JCB, MasterCard International, and Visa International.
EMVCo's primary role is to manage, maintain and enhance the EMV Integrated Circuit Card Specifications to ensure interoperability and acceptance of payment system integrated circuit cards on a worldwide basis. Within JCB, Tac is SVP, Infrastructure & Standards of Advanced Technologies unit, and is responsible for developing JCB’s strategy for advanced technology products and infrastructure. He had been based in Los Angeles for 6 years, and during his last 2 years in Los Angeles, he was in charge of smart card and advanced technologies in the region. Upon returning to Japan in October 2003, he assumed the current responsibility.
In July 2005, Tac took over as the Chairman of the EMVCo Board of Managers. The Chairman of the EMVCo Board of Managers oversees all EMVCo day-to-day operations, communications, and the Board of Managers activities. In addition, the Chairman represents EMVCo in public and to its constituents. Tac graduated from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.

Raymond WONG, Assistant Director, Immigration Department, Hong Kong
Raymond WONG is the Assistant Director of the Immigration Department in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China, in charge of development and management of information systems. He received two Bachelor degrees of Laws in China and UK respectively and has been awarded five Master degrees, in Comparative Law, Chinese Laws, Management, Information Systems and Business Administration respectively in Hong Kong and China.
Raymond joined the Immigration Department in 1972. Since 1982, he was responsible for the implementation of a number of important IT projects of the department. These included the Identity Card Information System in the 1980’s; the Information Systems Strategic Study in 1991; the implementation of the Corporate Database project in 1994; the Travel Document Information System for the HKSAR passport in 1997; the Information Systems Strategy Review in 1999; and the Smart Identity Card Information System in 2003. He is now responsible for the implementation of the Updated Information Systems Strategy of the Department, which comprises 30 projects including a number of innovative projects like Automated Passenger/Vehicle Clearance System, Easy Application and Investigation System, Electronic Records Programme, etc.

John WOOD, CEO, Multos
John Wood is CEO of the new holding company established in November 2005 by Oakhill, Keycorp, Hitachi and MasterCard to invest in the leading open standard smart card operating system technology called MULTOS.
Prior to taking on the role of CEO of the MULTOS holding company, since 2001 John has chaired the MULTOS consortium, the body of 16 industry companies established to manage MULTOS as an open standard.
John Wood was also the founder of Keycorp, the Australia based terminal and smart card Operating System provider. John established Keycorp back in 1983. By 1987 Keycorp was listed on the ASX and at the age of 29, John was named the Australian Financial Review’s Young Business Person of the Year.
John now lives in San Francisco and is a keen martial arts practitioner.

In 20 years as a professional, International journalist, Glenn van Zutphen has done nearly every job in print, radio and television news.
Most recently as news editor for cnbc asia/pacific in Singapore, he oversaw the network’s daily, regional news coverage.
While at CNN International, producer/anchor/reporter van Zutphen helped to report stories like the nato-led bombing of Yugoslavia, millennium celebrations, and gulf war II and the war against terror.
Prior to cnni, van Zutphen was an anchor/reporter/producer for Hong Kong’s wharf cable television before, during and after the 1997 handover to china.
In Switzerland and Japan he worked for ABC news radio and USA today newspaper. While in Tokyo he was a television and radio broadcaster for public broadcaster, nhk.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, van Zutphen is a Singapore Permanent Resident.
He earned a bachelor of arts in journalism from the university of southern California.
